New Novelette, On Cats and Apocalyptica

There’s a new story out from this site’s editor, David Z. Morris – which is to say, me. It’s been a long time coming, begun way back in 2014 when I was still living in Tampa, and directly inspired by a cat we had at the time who was both very bad and very lovable.

The story takes place in a bleak (though not at all ‘post-apocalyptic’) future world. I hope it effectively captures what I think is a sadly plausible future scenario – social hyper-stratification, widespread existential despair, and resurgent hate.

So, you know, it’s a party!

Anyway, below is the link to read it at Metaphorosis. I had a fantastic time working with the editor there, Morris B. Allen, and I’m really looking forward to the rest of the stories coming out in the current (February) issue.

I recommend reading on a tablet, if you can – the formatting looks better than on desktop.
